In our first blog post on our new website, we would like to share with you 5 great tips to ensure your email marketing campaigns convert into leads & sales for your business, because that's the whole point right!?
These are rules we follow on every email campaign we create for our clients, so they must be good...
An area that has put a lot of companies off emailing their clients, GDPR came into effect in Ireland in May 2018. While the rules are there to protect individuals from being spammed from companies, if individuals in your database have a legitimate interest in the products or services in your emails and they opted in to receive them, then they are fair game to be sent marketing emails from your company.
Be aware of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and adhere to the laws that come under them. Each area has a specific set of rules and regulations, make yourself knowledgeable in these aspects and tune your campaigns accordingly.
2. USE YOUR SUBJECT LINE WISELY
Keep your subject line short, simple & to the point. Tell the customer exactly what they can expect if/when they open your email.
Include numbers like “5 tricks to help your email marketing process” and keep it personal by including the customer’s name. This is an excellent way to target and attract your customers by encouraging them to read your email.
Do not flood your customers with irrelevant information. Only send emails when it is necessary. Customers will tend to get frustrated with a constant flow of emails and could even lead them to unsubscribe, which is the last thing we want to see as business owners & marketers!
A healthy email list should have good engagement & open rates of at least 25%. This means your content is relevant & useful to your audience.
4. CALL TO ACTION
It is essential to create email marketing content that leads a customer to the Call-to-Action button, encouraging them to take action, like subscribing to your email list, filling a form, or purchasing a product. Call to actions can be placed strategically on your mailshot, including in the text at the top of the email, as not everyone will read your email all the way through to the main call to action at the end!
5. USE THE POWER OF AUTOMATION & DATA!!!
Using automation for your email marketing will help increase conversion rates and improve efficiency.
